Jane Vincent
Jane Vincent is the Chair of the RIRDC Equine Research and Development Advisory Committee. She has been actively involved in various aspects of the horse industry for over 25 years, with experience in breeding, training, management, racing, eventing and education, not only in Australia but also in the United States, England and Japan.

Jane is a graduate of the Australian National University and the University of Maryland. In the USA, she worked for the National Geographic Society and the Australian beef lobbyists on Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. She is a qualified equestrian instructor, graduating in 1971 from Morven Park International Equestrian Institute, Leesburg, Virginia. Jane also was closely associated with the USET Olympic Silver Medal winning eventer, Kilkenny, in the lead up to the 1972 Munich Olympics.

After her period in the USA, she went on to England to train with Lars Sederholm, one of the world's top event trainers. On her return to Australia, she embarked on a career in the political arena and was a Private Secretary to a former Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs.

From 1979 to 1981, Jane lived in the Philippines and Japan. While in Japan, she was sensei (riding instructor) at a riding academy outside Kobe, and trained stallions in dressage and showjumping for clients. She has competed in combined training competitions in the USA, the UK and Australia.

Jane is a Thoroughbred breeder and racehorse owner, working from her stud, Loudoun Park, outside Canberra where she and her husband stand the imported stallion Yuan (USA). She has also bred Australian Stud Book ponies and until her schedule became too busy, she was an Official Judge with the NSW Dressage Council. Through their business, Vincent & Field Bloodstock, Jane and her husband provide an interstate horse transport service specialising in mare and foal, and yearling transport.

Jane has recently retired from her position managing the Trade portfolio of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade in the Federal Parliament and was Secretary to the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Family Law Issues.
